Airis Stove Guard Security
Airis is a proactive fire prevention system for electric hobs, independently certified to BS EN 50615 Category B: prevention of ignition — the standard referenced in building regulations BS 9991:2024. Currently protecting an estimated 100,000 people across the UK, Airis is specified in student accommodation, retirement housing, care settings, and private residential projects.
How it works?
Airis uses multiple infrared, air temperature, and humidity sensors alongside AI-driven algorithms to monitor heat, steam, and human presence at the hob. If dangerous conditions develop while the stove is unattended, the system sounds an alert. If this alert is not acknowledged, Airis proactively cuts power to the hob — preventing fire before it starts. The system is fail-safe and tamper-proof: if the sensor is moved or removed, cooking is prevented.
Airis has three variants for different applications:
Airis Sense — wall or splashback mounted; anti-tamper
Airis Sense Wi-Fi — as above, with remote SMS and email alerts for carers or building managers
Airis-C — ceiling-mounted, suited to kitchen islands, or residences where wall-mounting isn't practical
Installation
At ABC Maintence we are experienced installers of Airis Sense stove guard and we can usually fit one in under an hour. Installation is simple, because the power controller and the sensor communicate via a secure wireless link. The sensor can be mounted on the splashback or the cooker hood depending on your preference.
We install the power controller where it can’t be seen and the sensor is usually mounted with very high bond tape, which removes the need for drilling holes. Setup verification takes seconds and we leave you with a discreet, unobtrusive system you won’t even know is there until you have a potentially dangerous cooking situation develop. Airis does not interfere with normal, safe cooking, and will only intervene to prevent fires from starting.
